BURT BACHARACH RETURNS TO THE UK FOR A SERIES OF SUMMER CONCERTS INCLUDING A SPECIAL “A LIFE IN SONG” SHOW AT LONDON’S ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL

London Show at Royal Festival Hall on June 26th 2015 will see very special guest artists take to the stage to perform Burt’s legendary hits as he shares the stories behind the songs

Burt Bacharach needs little introduction. In a landmark 50+year run on the charts, Bacharach’s music continues to set industry records and creative standards. Those that have worked with him and recorded his songs read like a who’s who of 20th Century Pop Music - Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond, Dionne Warwick and Aretha Franklin, the list goes on.

A recipient of three Academy Awards and eight Grammy Awards (including the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award and 1997 Trustees Award with collaborator Hal David), Bacharach revolutionised the music of the 1950s and 60s and is regularly bracketed with legendary names, ranging from Cole Porter to Sir George Martin, as one of a handful of visionaries who pioneered new forms of music from the second half of the 20th Century and continued into the 21st Century.

As a live performer, his concerts continue to thrill – in recent years the Daily Telegraph declared they were in the “presence of genius” with The Independent confirming what we all know - that Bacharach really shows everyone “a brilliant lesson in the logistics of modern concert performance”.

Now for 2015, Bacharach returns to British shores. The Royal Festival Hall concert on 26th June will give a rare insight into the man behind the music.

This show will see Bacharach’s work celebrated through the annual A Life In Song Series, who have previously paid tribute to Sir Tim Rice, Don Black, Tony Hatch and David Arnold amongst others.  Not only will Burt perform, but special guest artists will take to the stage to perform his most loved songs to the backdrop of an orchestra as Burt shares anecdotes behind some of the most popular songs of the 20th Century.

Bacharach will be performing with his full band and an orchestra at the Manchester Bridgewater Hall (30 June), Birmingham Symphony Hall (1 July) and Cardiff Wales Millennium Centre (5 July).  The other concert dates are the Nottingham Royal Concert Hall (3 July) and Bristol Colston Hall (8 July).

Burt will perform some of his greatest and unforgettable hits, including The Look Of Love, I Say A Little Prayer, Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head and (They Long To Be) Close To You. Along with Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Paul McCartney and Paul Simon, Bacharach is a legend of popular music.

Bacharach’s global audiences span several generations, and he is viewed as the unique combination of one of the greatest composers of all time and the ultra-cool cult hero of the contemporary music set who often has several songs on various music charts in many countries simultaneously.
