He is the original heartthrob and the Father of British Rock ‘n’ Roll music, and now as he celebrates his 60th anniversary as an icon of British popular culture, Marty Wilde will embark on a huge nationwide tour.

Having been spotted performing at London’s legendary Condor Club in 1957, Marty proved he was Born to Rock ‘n’ Roll with a string of Top 5 hits in the coming years as a teenage star, including Donna, Sea of Love, and A Teenager in Love. Wilde popularised the fresh, youthful form of music known as Rock ‘n’ Roll that had just hit British shores as the main feature artist on TV shows such as Oh Boy! And Boy Meets Girls

Marty also cemented his longevity as a popular music icon with his prodigious songwriting for other artists, which included a string of hits in the 1980s such as Kids in America for his daughter, Kim.

It is this commitment to British music throughout 60 remarkable years of performing that has led Marty to be bestowed an MBE in the 2017 New Years Honours list, which he will accept at Buckingham Palace on 5th May.

On celebrating his 60th year at the forefront of British popular music, and being recognised with an MBE, Marty said: ‘It is a wonderful honour which I shall treasure forever.’

Joining him on the very special Marty Wilde 60th Anniversary Solid Gold Rock ‘n’ Roll Show tour will also be original icons Mike Berry, Eden Kane and Mark Wynter.

Mike Berry is known just as well for his music as he is for his TV work. A long time collaborator of producer Joe Meek, he enjoyed a string of hits in the 60s including Don’t You Think It’s Time, and The Sunshine Of Your Smile.  He also had hits with his group The Outlaws including A Tribute To Buddy Holly. His TV work included the iconic BBC series Are You Being Served. Last year he was also a contestant on BBC’s The Voice.

Eden Kane, the older brother of musicians Peter Starstedt and Clive Sarstedt, had success in the early 1960s with I Don’t Know Why, Well I Ask You and Boys Cry, before moving to the United States, where he began an acting career. A breakout role in three Star Trek series (Voyager, Next Generation and New Enterprise) saw him cement his ongoing popularity.

Mark Wynter, who will join the tour as a very special guest, enjoyed a lengthy career between 1960 and 1968 with hits including Venus In Blue Jeans, It’s Almost Tomorrow, Shy Girl, and Go Away Little Girl. He is also a celebrated actor both on screen and stage, having appeared in films, television shows, plays and musicals. Mark most notably starred in BBC’s Doctors, and playing the lead in eight West End plays and musicals.

The Solid Gold Rock ‘n’ Roll Show enthralled audiences all around the country last year, with the Marty, Mike, Eden and Mark reigniting the golden age of the original Rock ‘n’ Roll heartthrobs.

THE GODFATHER OF BRITISH BLUES

JOHN MAYALL

ANNOUNCES HUGE UK AUTUMN TOUR

FEATURING SPECIAL GUESTS

THE BUDDY WHITTINGTON BAND

• TOUR COINCIDES WITH RELEASE OF REMARKABLE 65TH ORIGINAL ALBUM ‘TALK ABOUT THAT’ EARLIER THIS YEAR

• GRAMMY NOMINATED BLUES PIONEER PERFORMING TRACKS FROM ACROSS HIS SIX DECACE LONG CAREER

TICKETS ON SALE NOW

He is one of the most iconic and prolific British musicians of all time in any genre, let alone that which has given him the title of ‘The Godfather of the Blues’. Now, having amassed over 60 albums in a career that has spanned 6 decades, the legendary John Mayall, will embark on a massive UK tour this coming October.

The shows follow on from the release of his latest album ‘ Talk About That’ earlier this year – an incredible feat, as it is his 65th album of original material.

The guitarist, singer and organist rose to fame in the early 1960’s UK Blues revolution with the formation of his band John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, who featured a cast of legendary members such as Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor, Peter Green, and Mick Fleetwood in different line-ups of the group.

John Mayall’s pioneering blues-blend has also seen him find fame in America, where he was heralded for his many jazz / rock / blues innovations. This culminated in him being nominated for a Grammy Award, for his 1993 album ‘Wake Up Call’. The album featured special guest appearances from Mick Taylor, Mavis Staples and Buddy Guy.

Lauded with acclaim throughout his career, John Mayall was awarded an OBE for his services to British music in 2005, and was also inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 2016.

Having permanently retired the Bluesbreakers name in 2008, Mayall began touring with George Rzab on bass and Jay Davenport, and as a trio Mayall’s songs are as dynamic and bold as ever.

John Mayall and his band will take this revitalised dynamism to shows across the country as they embark on this lengthy UK tour beginning in Crawley on October 17th, which will also feature very special guests, The Buddy Whittington Band – formed by former Bluesbreaker himself, Buddy Whittington.

After touring for the last few years focused on stripping his influential catalogue of hits back to their acoustic forms, Midge Ure is ready to build them right back up again, as he embarks on a huge UK tour with a new show that takes influence from the forward-thinking pop music with which he originally made his name.

Ure will perform his most loved hits such as ‘If I Was’, which went to No.1 in the UK Singles Charts ‘Fade To Grey’, and, of course, ‘Vienna’, which was recently voted by BBC Radio 2 listeners as the greatest ever track to reach No.2 in the charts and by listeners of Absolute 80’s Radio as the song of the decade.

Midge with Band Electronica will enthuse these songs with the fresh sound of modern synthesisers to create a unique and atmospheric experience.

The collaborative tour, which will also feature special guest opening, acts Altered Images  - fronted by Clare Grogan and famed for their hits ‘Happy Birthday’, and ‘Don’t Talk to Me About Love’, and The Christians, who will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their eponymously titled debut album.

On the concept of the tour, Midge said:

“I want to revisit some material that I've not really been able to perform with the recent acoustic line up, so you can expect to hear songs that haven't been aired for a while as well as the classics and a couple of surprises! I've really enjoyed touring with a band and now I want to expand back to a four piece and return to a more electronic based format”

Celebrating their 30th Anniversary as a band with this tour, The Christians said:

“The Christians were thrilled to be invited on this tour with Midge Ure and Altered Images. Its our 30th anniversary and we thought what a great way to spend 30 dates in and around the UK belting out our hits Harvest for the World, Ideal World, and many more in the company of this lot ... can't wait to see you guys on the road!”

On performing on the tour, Clare Grogan of Altered Images said:

“It's been quite some time since I've toured so it's going to be a very special event in my calendar this year - especially as I'm getting to share a stage with the equally mighty Midge Ure and The Christians. We are going to have beautiful music, fun, and in my case maybe some tears and we'll be taking the whole audience with us”

Having performed in various bands throughout the mid-late 1970s, Midge Ure rose to

fame producing and creating the New-Romantic Synth-Rock sounds of bands such as Visage and Ultravox, before embarking on a successful solo career – all whilst writing film music, directing videos for other artists, and co-organising Band Aid & Live Aid.

Now, Midge Ure’s Band Electronica, The Christians and Altered Images featuring Clare Grogan are set to travel the length and breadth of the UK with these concert performances which will prove to be much more than just an 80s experience.
